Michael Blake‘s Philosophy of Composition

Friedrich Gauwerky (Violoncello) wurde in Hamburg geboren. Sein Debüt gab er bereits im Alter von zwölf Jahren, mit siebzehn erhielt er den Preis des Philharmonischen Orchesters Hamburg. Gauwerky war erster Cellist des Frankfurter Ensemble Modern und des australischen Elision Ensemble.
Weltweite Konzerttätigkeit als Solist und Kammermusiker sowie als Solist mit Sinfonieorchestern, Rundfunk- und Fernsehproduktionen in Europa, den USA, in Asien und Australien. LP- und CD-Produktionen für Firmen wie der Deutschen Grammophon Gesellschaft, Ricordi, Edition M.F. Bauer, ABC Classics undandere.

Daan Vandewalle (piano) is an internationally acclaimed performer of 20th and 21st century piano music.
His repertoire consists of hundreds of pieces, integrales of most of the well-known composers of the 20th century such as Charles Ives, Olivier Messiaen, as well as numerous premieres that resulted from intense collaborations with composers of today.
Apart from his work as a soloist he forms a piano-duo with the legendary Australian pianist Geoffrey Douglas Madge, and duos with cellist Arne Deforce and singer Salome Kammer.
Since 2001 he teaches piano at the conservatory of Ghent, University of Ghent College.
